In the story, "The Necklace" by Guy de Maupassant. Madame loisel discover that she is a harworker because in the story "She came to know the heavy work of the house, the hateful duties of the kitchen. She washed the plates, wearing out her pink nails on the coarse pottery and the bottoms of pans. She washed the dirty linen, the shirts and dish-cloths, and hung them out to dry on a string; every morning she took the dustbin down into the street and carried up the water, stopping on each landing to get her breath" it shows that madame loisel was working hard to pay off the debt by doing hardwork that she didn't like. I think she should of told the truth even though she would have to pay for it, it couldn't have been worse than lieing, i mean she wouldn't have to do this much work.

In the story, "The Necklace" by Guy de Maupassant. Madam was a poor woman because on the story it says" She was distressed at the poverty of her dwelling, at the bareness of the walls, at the shabby chairs, the ugliness of the curtains. All those things, of which another woman of her rank would never even have been conscious, tortured her and made her angry." This is saying that she wants to be like the other womans especially on a party. My commntary is that i no that she is poor and when going to a dance she wants to be beautiful so i would do the same thing and cancel the gift.

In "The Necklace" by Guy de Maupassant, Madame Loisel discovers that she isn't all-knowing and makes flaws. In the novel, she dedicates 10 years of her life replacing a necklace that was in vain. As Mme. Foriester exclaimed, she said, "Mine were false" and "It was worth 500 francs at the most" (p.541). She would either be angry, fault-founding, or hysterical.

  5. In the novel "The necklace" by Guy de Maupassant it shows how Madame Louisel's husband was devoted throughout the entire story. The beginning of the story shows how her husband provided a comfortable life for Madame Loisel. Her husband bought her an expensive outfit in which he could not afford. When Losiel lost the necklace her husband sacrifieced everything to replace the necklace. The couple spent ten years to replace the lost necklace. I think Madame Loisel's husband devotion should make her appreciate whats important. She should be thankful rather than being envy.

In the story " The Necklace" by Guy de Maupassant, it shows how she had changed drastically because of when she had lost the necklace.Madame Louisel had lost the necklace in paragraph 5 as she said,"I . . . I . . . I've no longer got Madame Forestier's necklace. . . ."Madame Louisel had realized that she had lost somethng very prescous that is very expensve, but thats what she thinks. So she starts borrowing money from people and ends up paying 36,000 francs for a real necklace. Then she went from being not that poor to workng for 10 years straight just to pay all the money back to the people. So she ends up findng out that the real necklace was actually fake and wasted all of her time just to repay money. Her life was changed dramatically over a single fake necklace.

In the story the "necklace" by Guy de Maupassant, Madam Loisel tries to be one of those rich women that have a life of luxury. To show that she was rich she borrowed a necklace to go to the party. After loisel lost it, loisel didn't want madam forester to know, so madam loisel found out that she was a hardworking woman. "She learned the rough work of the household, the odious labors of the kitchen. And, dressed like a woman of the people, she went to the fruiterer, the grocer, the butcher, a basket on her arm, bargaining, insulted, fighting for her wretched money, sou by sou". For the sake of loisel's friendship, madam had to work hard to pay the necklace. Because madam loisel wanted to look beautiful for a day, it resulted in ten years of work and caused loisel to become aged. My comment is that madam loisel worked ten years for her 'wanted to have it all'.madam loisel SHOULD have told madam forester about the necklace and loisel would have earned ten years of labor work.

  10. In "The Neclace" by Guy de Maupassant. Madame Loisel discovers that she doesn't need stuff to show her beuty. She spent 10 years woking her but of, just to pay for something that was not woth all that! "Mine were false and it was worth 500 francs" (p.541). If Loisel was a nicer and apreciated woman she would had been a beter person and would had never gone through all that trouble.

In the story "The Necklace" by Guy de Maupassant,Madame Loisel discover how determine she was to make her self into something she wasn't. In the story it states that"He threw over her shoulders the garments he had brought for them to go home in, modest everyday clothes, whose poverty clashed with the beauty of the ball-dress. She was conscious of this and was anxious to hurry away, so that she should not be noticed by the other women putting on their costly furs." Instead of being ashamed of what you got you should enjoy what you have, because people shouldn't judge you based upon what you have, but on what your personality is.

In the story, "The Necklace" by Guy De Maupassant Madame loisel discovered that she was never fit to be one of those people who was born with a "Silver spoon" cause if she was she wouldn't have to borrow her friend's necklace to where to the dance. If she was one of those people who were born rich then she wouldn't have had that problem.
She discovered that she was really ment to belong in the working class cause madam loisel and her husband both had to work hard to pay for that necklace that they had lost after the party.
I believe that if Madam loisel would have told her friend that she lost the necklace in ther first place that she wouldn't have to had worked those 10 years to pay it off.
So to me i think she also discover is telling people the problem straight up is better than waiting and finding out something bad like for example the necklace was fake {on page 541) and she bought her a real diamond necklace to replace it.

  15. (3 period) In the story the "Necklace" by Guy de Maupassant the reader can conclude that Madame Loisel thinks of herself as greedy and dependent. Madame Loisel was always asking to borrow valuable possesions as if it was nessary or needed. For example "At last, she answered hesitatingly: I don't know exactly, but it seems to me that with four hundred francs I might do it." in paragraph 25-26 page 2. As a result of whats happened/ordeal the reader would most likely think that Madame Loisel has learned not to be so dependent on others, and not to be greedy.

  16. In "The Necklace" by Guy de Maupassant Madame Loisel discovered that telling the truth is the best thing to do. "You remember the dimond necklace you lent me to wear to the party at the Ministry?""Yes.What about it?""Well I lost it."(pg147-48) After Madame Loisel told Madame Forestier she told her her's was a false. If Madame Loisel would of told her about the lost necklace she wouldn't have the life she had at the end; that was worst than the one she had to begin with.

In this story "The Necklace" by Guy de Maupassant,Madame Loisel should have came to a concluson at the end that telling the truth is the only way to go.But I think that if she simplily would have just told the truth that she lost the necklace her life would have been much easier. But it would have have been wise for Madame Forestier to tell Madame Loisel that the necklace was false from the beginning. That would have made have made Madame Loisels life both easier and stress free.

In the story "The Necklace" by Guy de Maupassant, Madame Loisel noticed that having nice things is not everything. For example if she did not borrow the necklace she wouldn't be in this mess, she noticed that the old necklace was a fake it was worth 500 franks (pg541). She now knows to tell the truth firstthan to lie to them.

  19. In the story “The necklace” by Guy de Maupassant, during the ordeal, Madame Loisel discovered about herself that she is a hard worker because she worked for 10 whole years to pay off the necklace and the debt that was caused. My evidence that proves this is in the story the narrator said “This fearful debt must be paid off. She would pay it. The servant was dismissed. They changed their flat; they took a garret under the roof.
She came to know the heavy work of the house, the hateful duties of the kitchen. She washed the plates, wearing out her pink nails on the coarse pottery and the bottoms of pans. She washed the dirty linen, the shirts and dish-cloths, and hung them out to dry on a string; every morning she took the dustbin down into the street and carried up the water, stopping on each landing to get her breath. And, clad like a poor woman, she went to the fritter, to the grocer, to the butcher, a basket on her arm, haggling, insulted, and fighting for every wretched halfpenny of her money. Every month notes had to be paid off, others renewed, time gained.”pg.6. I say she’s a hard worker because when she lost her friends necklace she didn’t want to tell her so she set her goal to make enough money to replace the necklace to give back, so it took her ten years to do every thing to make money. She’s a type of women to work for what she wants.

In "The Necklace" by Guy de Maupassant, Madame Loisel learned that there is more to her life than longing for money and higher caste. She learned to be grateful for what she has. She also learned that she was being selfish and snobby when she believed that she had to have everything that she wanted all the time. She learned that she wasn't as wretched as she thought she was ten years before her necklace incident. She learned that her innate placement was not a curse, but a blessing compared to what she endured in the end. All of this is evidently shown in the story when it says "Madame Loisel came to know the life of the poverty-stricken" and "She came to know all the heavy household chores" (pg. 540). Personally, I'm glad she learned the value of a dollar so that she can value what she has and be more thankful for what and who she has in her life.

In the story "The Necklace" by Guy Masspaunt,Madame Loisel discovered that greed can ruined your life and make you miseriable. For an example in chapter 7 the internet version "What would have happened if she had never lost those jewels. Who knows? Who knows? How strange life is, how fickle! How little is needed to ruin or to save!" Madame Loisel like many other people need to learn a lesson and grow from it. Madame Loisel hopefully learned to love herself, her husband ,and be content with her life.

In the story "The Necklace" by Guy de Maupassant, Madame Loisel discovered that she is a hard working person. (p6)"She washed the plates, wearing out her pink nails on the coarse pottery and the bottoms of pans. She washed the dirty linen, the shirts and dish-cloths, and hung them out to dry on a string; every morning she took the dustbin down into the street and carried up the water, stopping on each landing to get her breath. And, clad like a poor woman, she went to the fruiterer, to the grocer, to the butcher, a basket on her arm, haggling, insulted, fighting for every wretched halfpenny of her money." Madame Loisel should have told the truth instead of lying to her friend about the necklace. If Madame Loisel would have told the truth she wouldn't have did that work for nothing.

In 'The Necklace' by Guy de Maupassant, Madame Loisel discovered that she could learn to appreciate what she had. Before the incident she practically lived in luxury, compared to how she lived after the incident like when the author stated '' Madame Loisel came to know the awful life of the poverty-stricken."pg.146 which means before she did not live in a huge amount of a poor condition. If I was Madame Loisel I wouldve appreciated everything my husband did for me not nag about what he didnt do, like they say 'what goes around comes around.' Her being very snobby resulted in the ordeal of hardwork for 10 years just to find out it was fake.

Madame Loisel discovers that she is hard working. In the novel, she dedicated 10 years of her life replacing a necklace that was in fake and almost worthless. As Mme. Foriester exclaimed, she said, "Mine were false" and "It was worth 500 francs at the most"p.541. if i was madame louisel i would get back the necklace and sell it. i would pay the 500 francs to m.forister and keep the rest.(the real necklace must be more valueable beacuse it is more rare.

In the story, "The Necklace" by Guy de Maupassant, Madame Loisel learns how important it is to tell the truth and face her consequences for being very picky about her life style and not realizing the important things that matter in life. For example when Madame loisel learns why she needs to tell the truth, when they state,"What are you talking about? You returned it to me."What I gave back to you was another one just like it. And it tool us ten years to pay for it. You can imagine it wasn't easy for us, since we were quite poor...Anyway, I'm glad its over and done with." And also when she discovers the consequences of not telling the truth, when Madame Forestier stating, "Oh my poor, poor Mathilde!Mine was false. It was worth five hundred francs at the most!". Madame Loisel took for granted a loving husband that stayed with her throughout all her problems because of her privation of realizing what was important. If she would of just been happy with the fact that her husband went through a lot of trouble in getting an invitation she should have had a little gratitude and thought of his impression or just him and not so much of herself, in return, then she wouldn't of had him pay extra just to make his Madame Loisel happy.

Instead of her just being content with who she was she landed flat on her face. The evidence I pull from my direct statement is that she had to work her whole life to pay off an object that seemed to be very expensive but it cold reality was as cheap as she was but tried to make herself appear to be.
