ReplyDeleteIf I were in Madam Loisel's place, and I lost my friend's necklace, I would have been honest and told them up front I lost it. Then I would of tried my best to replace the necklace, because if it were vise versa I would of wanted the same thing from my friend, that is if they was a real friend. And if I couldn't pay the fees to replace it I would have to take the fall for losing my friends necklace. You have a good friend if they let you borrow one of their prized possesions.

ReplyDeleteIn the story, "The Necklace" by Guy de Maupassant what I would have done if I were in Madam Loisel's place is just say, “it is, what it is”, but that is only because I don’t really care about the gilts and the glam. Of course I would like to have that stuff, everyone would, but I know what is real from fake. Madam Loisel's didn’t understand that she was better off not having the necklace. This shows at the in of the story when they say "Yes. You hadn't noticed it? They were very much alike." And she smiled in proud and innocent happiness.” So she ended up letting it harrowed her life.

If she was still upset thern I would have still felt better that I told her the truth, appoligized ,and will accept the possible consenquences for my irresponsibility.( If I was not able to pay back the money then I would also say sorry for my misfortune.)par. 1-128

In the story,"The Necklace" by Guy de Maupassaunt, the main character Madam Loisels borrowed a necklace and then misplaced it. If I were in the place of Madam Loisels I would just come clean and tell Madame Forestier that I accidentally lost it. After I told Madame Forestier I lost the necklace, I would have explained to her that I will do almost anything to replace her necklace. Madame Loisels reaction when she first discovered the necklace was missing was nothing like mine would have been, she and her husband searched and searched for the necklace in all the jewelry stores and finally found it and found out that it was thirty-six thousand francs which was obvously out of their budget. Instead of looking for the lost necklace I would have went to Madame Forestier and told her because they could have saved thirty-five thousand and five hundred francs, because the actual necklace was really five hundred francs(pgh.43-46).

ReplyDeleteIn the story "The Necklace" by Guy de Maupassaunt,Madam Loisels borrowed her friend's necklace but accidently lost it. Madam Loisels lost her friend's necklace and didn't even tell her that she lost it, Madam Loisel and her husband thought that if they just lied to the lady they could get away with it for that moment and they could of used that time to search for the necklace this can be proven by in the story Madam Loisel's husband says,"You must write to your friend," he said, "and tell her that you've broken the clasp of her necklace and are getting it mended. That will give us time to look about us." Well unfortunately they didn't find the necklace after all and after borrowing a lot of money that but them both in serious debts and hard times and troubles, but after all of that they finally bought the necklace. Soon in about 10 years Madam and her husband escaped all of their debts and loans, after such a long time of having to work very hard Madam looked very old and weary. One day Madam saw the friend that she borrowed the necklace from, she decided to tell her what she did to her necklace. After telling her friend about all that she went through to give her friend her necklace she found out that the necklace was only worth about five hundred frances and was an imitation. If I were Madam and her husband I would have confessed that I lost the necklace and got it over with before going through all the trouble that they went through.

Loisel panicked, looked for Mme Forester's necklace, replaced it, and then waited ten years to confess, only to find out that the necklace was fake and only worth about five hundred francs. In the story, Mme. Loisel saw the necklace and right away asked "Can you lend me this, only this?"(pg.1). If I were in her place, I first off would've said the necklace was beautiful and then asked "Is this real?". When Mme. Loisel lost the necklace, they looked "In the folds of her wrap, in the folds of her dress, in the pockets, everywhere"(pg.1). I would've looked all over incessantly, too, but I wouldn't have worried much if my infallibility at finding it was void, because I would've been aware of its faulseness. When I had realized and accepted that it was lost, I would've told Mme. Forester and replaced the necklace as a courtesy to her, not to try to keep its loss a secret. When most people lose something that they borrowed from somebody, they often try to replace it. I have never done that. I always come clean because I could never get the money to replace something that I've lost.

The word caste is being used to explain theme because, Ms.Loisels' wasn't rich like her friends, instead she was very different, because she was a artisans: She was one of those pretty and charming girls born, as though fate had blundered over her, into a family of artisans. In the story, "The Necklace" by Guy de Maupassaunt Loisel imposed herself to find a matching necklace to replace the missing one. This shows that Loisel was not very retort because of the fact that she could have just told her, so called friend, the real story then she could have said that she was willing to pay everything for the borrowed necklace. Instead of being imposed with lack of money and having to spend ten years of her life owing other people so that she could pay her necklace.
These attemps to recover from her loss were when Loisel was getting new ideas to replace the necklace:
By the end of the week we had lost all hope.
Loisel, who had aged five years, declared:
" We must see about replacing the diamonds."
Also proof of Loisel's benevolently gone to waist is showed by the following:
" Oh, my poor Mathilde! But mine was imitation. It was worth at the very most five hundred francs!..."
Loisel should have been more ingeniously in her attempt to recover for the borrowed necklace. When people lie there is never anything that comes good from it.

I will be doing option 3. In the story "The Necklace" by de Maupassaunt loisel Madam Loisel had spend years working for a necklace replacement. Well thats her, but i would tell my rich friend that im sorry and this will never happen again and that I swear that I can do anything for her to replace the necklace. If it was the opposite like i was the rich person and my friend wanted something so good that I will cry if I dont get it return. So when my friend explaine to me what has happened(line 118-120) and I will apreciatted. My commentary is that losing a present will never end a friend relationship, because in the story the rich friend was not mad but she accept her apology and the other necklace. Also they wasnt fighting and not arguing to each other.
In the story, "The Necklace", by Guy de Maupassant, the character Madame Loisel is going to a party, but she needed jewelry, so she asks her friend Madame Forestier, if she could borrow some jewelry. Well Madame Loisel gets a beautiful necklace from her, and weres it to the party, after leaving the party the necklace is lost(pages 141-142). Madame Loisel works to pay for the necklace for 5 years and finds out that the necklace was fake. Now if I would have lost the necklace, I would have looked for it first, and if I couldn't find it, then I would have told Madame Forestier that I'd lost the neclace, and would be willing to replace or pay for it.

ReplyDelete"The Necklace" by Guy de Maupassaunt.Option 3- Write about what you would have done if you were in Madam Loisel's place. If I were in Loisel's place i would have never borrowed the necklace. My mama rule is to never borrow people's items. Then secondly, I would i have told my friend that I had lost the necklace. So, we could have worked out an arrganement about the necklace.

ReplyDeleteIn the story "THE NECKLACE" by Guy de Maupassaunt. If i was Madam Loisel i would have told Madame Fosterier that i lost it because she might have giving me a break or told me it was fake. Then she wouldn't have gone to do all the trouble to replace it which her look went away for working 10 years for it.like in the story when she said "oh my poor, poor Mathilde! Mine was false it was worth five hundred francs at the most".Which was mess up because she work so hard to repay and didn't have the guts to tell her till that moment.

ReplyDeleteIn the story "The Necklace" by Guy De Maupassaunt. If I was Madam Loisel I would have told Madam Fosterier about what had happened the second that I found out that I didn't have the necklace anymore or I wouldn't have borrowed it to begin with, I would have been happy with what I had."Mines wasn't real"(pg.3). My rule is if I borrow anything from anybody that I am going to return it as soon as possible, and if I happen to lose the item that I will tell whoever let me borrow it what happened so they wouldn't think that I didn't want to give it back to them, and so that our friendship would not be destroyed becuase of an item that I really didn't need.

ReplyDeleteIn the story "The Necklace" by Guy De Maupassaunt. If i was loisel I wouldn't have not borrowed the necklace in the first place to begin with.On pg 541"mine was not real".She shoul have been grateful for what she did have and not going I think that loisel deserved what she had gotten because she should have not been going around begging for others belongings.

ReplyDeleteIn 'The Necklace' by Guy de Maupassant, If I was Madame Loisel I wouldve told the truth instead of panicking and rushing to buy a replacement and living 10 years of hard work. If she wouldve told the truth nothing would have happened like when the author stated 'Madame
Loisel came to know the awful life of the
poverty-stricken.. She came to know all the
heavy household chores, the loathsome work of the kitchen. She washed the dishes, wearing down her pink nails on greasy casseroles and the bottoms of saucepans."pg.146 I wouldve saved myself all that work maybe Madame Forestier wouldve forgiven her.
